What does the spec require for structural steel connection bolts on level 3?
Per Specification Section 05 12 00, Clause 7.4.2, all structural steel connections on Level 3 require M24 Grade 8.8 high-strength bolts to AS/NZS 1252. Bolt holes shall be drilled (not punched) and minimum edge distances must comply with AS 4100 Table 9.6.2.
Does this apply to the transfer beam connections too?
Yes. The transfer beam connections at Grid B/3 are specified in Drawing S-TB-001 with the same bolt grade. However, RFI-142 (issued 14 Mar) notes that the engineer has requested a shop drawing review before fabrication.
